Ashtanga: Full Primary Series
The Ashtanga Primary Series, known as “Yoga Chikitsa” in Sanskrit, or yoga therapy, is an ancient system of yoga that was brought to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This challenging and disciplined style of yoga entails a specific, flowing sequence of poses moving from Sun Salutations to a series of standing, seated and inverted asanas (poses) in a moving meditation. Attention is paid to the breath (ujjayi pranayama) and internal aspects of the body (bandhas) to cultivate inner awareness, calm the mind and produce intense heat to detoxify the entire body.
Gentle/Yin Hatha
